~ My birth story ~

This is the about me from mama to me...

"The birth journey wasn't an easy one, it all started from year 2010 when we first started trying for a baby. I just don't understand why some people can get pregnant so easily. We started trying for baby in Apr 2010 until Sep when my menses was late for two weeks and thought that I was pregnant but it was a false hope and had terrible cramps. So I went for a gynecology checkup and found out that I have a 5cm cyst which hinders pregnancy. I had the cyst remove in Dec 2010.

We continued trying for baby after my surgery but each month was just disappointment. After all the disappointment, I sort of given up hope on conceiving natural and told Hubbie that we will go for IVF after our Taiwan holiday if we still didn't succeed. The stress was gone and we went for our Thailand holiday on Jul 2011. Our wish came true and I was pregnant.

We were delighted but things don't happened the way we wanted. I had severe bleeding in week 6 of pregnancy. I nearly lost our precious beanie. I was ordered bed rest for one month and we had to cancel our Taiwan holiday.

Trimester 2 and 3 was a breeze and everything went well. The time came and our son was full term. I started to worry about giving birth. Scare that baby is too big. After my course on 1 Mar, I told baby that he can come out anytime.

True enough my waterbag broke the next day. I was admitted to Mt A on 2  Mar 2013, 7am. Dr Koh check and I was not dilated hence was transferred to ward to wait for contraction to start.

Nothing happened until the next day, 3 Mar 2013. Contraction start to fall in at 1am and by 8am it's 5min apart and I was admitted to delivery ward. The delivery wards were fully occupied and I have to wait at the observation . By that time I was 3cm dilated and drip was ordered to fasten the process. By 12pm the pain was very intense and the observation area is very hot. After 12 hours of pain and heat, I couldn't take it anymore and asked for epidural. The epidural was administered and dilation progress to 5cm by 5pm and I was transferred to delivery suite. While moving to the delivery bed, the epidural tube was moved and I was in pain again. I was given booster, the pain goes off and I fell asleep. When I woke up half of my body was numb and baby's heartbeat was dropping. I was goggy and the nurse was rushing around me, putting oxygen mask over me and asked me to breathe deeply to bring back baby's heartbeat. Half an hour later baby's heartbeat was back to normal but I was only 6cm dilated. At 8pm, Dr Koh check again and it's still 6cm. The labour is taking too long and there's no progress so I have to go for emergency caserian to take baby out. At 9.50pm, our precious son was bornt.

Thinking back, Hubbie says that our son listen to me as I told him he can come out anytime and he really poke the waterbag on 2 Mar. I mentioned to him that 3 Mar is a good date and he really waited till 3 Mar 2013 to come to this world.

10 months ago, he was still in my tummy and now he is in my arms. Everything is worth to have him in my arms. Mama and Papa loves you.
